Life Outdoors is Now Installing Pergolas and Decks Across Sydney

After 15 years building in Sydney's south, we're bringing the same standard to the rest of the city.

If you've been following Life Outdoors for a while you'll know we've spent the past 15 years building our reputation in the Sutherland Shire, St George and Wollongong. Hundreds of pergolas, decks and outdoor living spaces. Plenty of five star reviews. A team we're genuinely proud of.

For a long time the question we got asked most from people outside our area was some version of "do you come to us?" and for a long time the honest answer was not really. That's changed. We're now installing pergolas and decks across all of Greater Sydney.

Why now?

Honestly it's been coming for a while. We've done the work to grow our team, sharpen our processes and make sure we can deliver the same quality in Rockdale or Randwick that we deliver in Cronulla or Miranda. That takes time to get right and we didn't want to expand just for the sake of it.

We've also had a lot of enquiries from Sydney homeowners who found us online or heard about us through landscapers and builders they work with. At some point it made sense to just say yes.

What we're installing Sydney wide

Our main focus for Greater Sydney is insulated pergolas and custom decks. These are the two products we've built the most of over the years and the two we're most confident delivering at a consistently high standard no matter where in Sydney you're based.

Insulated pergolas are something we're particularly passionate about. We use Versiclad insulated roofing as standard because it genuinely performs. On a hot Sydney day the difference between sitting under a Versiclad insulated ceiling and sitting under a standard metal roof is enormous. If you've ever baked under a tin patio in January you'll know exactly what we mean.

For decks we work in hardwood timbers like Spotted Gum and Merbau as well as composite products like Millboard for clients who want a low maintenance option. We're also experienced with steep and challenging blocks which is something that comes up a lot across the Inner West and Eastern Suburbs where a lot of Sydney's older homes sit on awkward terrain.

How we work

One thing that doesn't change regardless of where you're based is how we operate. We don't use subcontractors. Every project is built by our own in house team which means we take full ownership of what we promise and what we deliver. That's been a core part of how we do things since Tim started the business in 2010 and it's not something we're changing.

We also handle all council approvals and CDC applications on your behalf. Navigating the approval process for a pergola or deck can be genuinely confusing and varies from council to council across Sydney. We deal with it every day so you don't have to.

The process is the same as it's always been. We come out to your property for a free site visit, take measurements, understand what you're after and come back to you with a custom design and quote. No obligation and no cost.
